Sun Stream's Radiant Heat Test

Many sauna companies are making claims regarding micron outputs, depth of heat penetration, Infrared heat output, yet very few offer any evidence to support these claims.

Sun Stream Saunas has developed a test procedure to visually  gauge the amount of radiant heat from Infrared sauna heaters.

Super Efficient 'Nano Carbon' Heaters & Superior infrared sauna design,

results in a faster & heavier sweat for you!

Nano Carbon Heating Technology

All Sun Stream Saunas use our revolutionary Ultra Low EMF Nano Carbon Heaters, which have some similarities to other carbon fibre panel heaters on the market but BETTER!

The Nano Carbon heating panel uses a sheet that has been impregnated with carbon using a special high temperature pressing technique to produce a resistance that will emit infrared waves at an even, safe, surface temperature that is more comfortable for the user.  Furthermore, no unhealthy gasses will be emitted during heating due to its unique manufacturing methods.

Many of the Carbon panel heaters on the market are made with different qualities of carbon materials and with different manufacturing processes.  There are cheaply made, poor performing heaters and there are high quality, high performing heaters.

The specialized 'Nano' forms of carbon used in our heaters originate in Japan and very few companies possess the technology to process the carbon and produce high performing, high watt density carbon heater panels.

The test utilizes a Cholesteric Liquid Crystal 'Test Screen' which changes colours in reaction to the radiant heat of the sauna heaters.

The test clearly displays a greater intensity and wider spread Infrared output from our high temperature Nano-Carbon panels.

High Intensity Infrared with Heaters   Positioned Low

All infrared sauna brands are using the same amount of power provided by a regular 10 - 15 Amp outlet. Sun Stream is one of the few companies capable of concentrating the saunas' electrical power into smaller surface area, hotter carbon panels (High Watt Density panels).

Our heaters are positioned lower on the walls aiming more radiant heat onto your body vs. competitors' larger surface  area, cooler carbon panels which produce a less intense radiant

heat and wastes infrared heat above your head.

Concentration of the electrical power into smaller hotter panels results in a superior sauna experience, targeting your body with more infrared heat, raising your core temperature and inducing a faster heavier sweat.

Sometimes less is more!

Cheap low density carbon panels are easily identified in saunas. They cover much of the inside walls of the sauna and extend high up the sauna walls as pictured.

Warming your body quickly and sweating heavily are the fundamentals by which any Infrared sauna should be judged. Your sweating experience and benefits derived from using the saunas are dependent on the amount of Infrared radiant heat that is projected at you, hits your body & warms you.

Complete 360 Degree Infrared Body Coverage.

The more radiant heat that can be directly targeted on to your body the faster you will sweat since the Infrared Heat is absorbed by the moisture in your skin.

The majority of Infrared Saunas on the market today do not have heaters installed on the front wall. In addition to this, what you see in most brands is the side wall heaters stopping short at the front of the seat. Therefore no radiant heat is projected on to the front of your body.

Sun Stream Evolve Range.

Our Evolve saunas provide a Superior Immersion in radiant heat with our large 300 Watt heaters placed directly in front of you on the door, providing true 360 Degrees of  Surround Infrared Heat.

Sun Stream Supreme Range

Our Supreme saunas feature large side wall heaters that extend to the very front of the sauna so as to project the invisible photons of infrared light back to the front of your body.

NO Cloth Covers on the Heaters.

One of the most important factors to consider when purchasing an Infrared Sauna is that there are NO cloth covers over the surface of the Heater Panel.

Most competing Infrared Sauna brands are adhering synthetic cloth covers to their carbon panel heaters. Our Sun Stream 'Nano-Carbon" heaters do not use cloth covers.

Consider 3 reasons why this is so important?

  • Cloth Covers Significantly reduce Infrared Heat Output. Since radiant heat is absorbed by the moisture in our skin, cloth covers inhibit, block and prevent this from happening efficiently. The resulting effect is that it will take a lot longer to induce a sweat.
  • Cloth Covers introduce potentially off-gassing glues and synthetic fabrics into the sauna.  In most cases the cloth covers are glued to the surface of the heater panels and/or surrounding timbers.
  • Cloth Covers make it almost impossible to maintain hygiene in the sauna since they cannot be removed or cleaned. This is especially problematic on the floor heater which is exposed to large amounts of sweat.

Open Design Heater Guards

Many sauna brands are installing excessive wooden slats in front of the carbon heater panels. These slats block and reduce the amount of infrared heat projected at your body.

Sun Stream's wooden heater guards are constructed with strong, thick wooden slats, widely spaced to maximize the infrared output for your sauna experience.
